There is a huge variation in the types and quantities of materials required to be blended and the equipment offered will be based on achieving the most efficient mixing of all the ingredients specified by a client. The extensive powder handling experience of Powder Systems & Services means that the machine supplied will reliably produce repeatable homogeneous blends in short mix times and with low operating costs. Required levels of hygiene and surface finish are also taken into account in selecting the appropriate type of blender for a given application.

Ribbon Blender

Ribbon Blenders carry out the blending process using thin ribbon-shaped elements rotating within a trough-shaped body. They are capable of mixing very large batches of materials and can handle both dry and wet ingredients. Their relatively slow operating speed and the bi-directional flow of product within the mixing trough result in complete and even mixing.

  • Good working volume; between 40%-70% of the total nominal volume depending on bulk densities of materials being blended

Paddle Blender

Paddle Blenders use rotating paddles to impart rapid movement to the mass of material, thus dividing and mixing it. Additional choppers can be added to break up lumps or the blender may be used for granulation. Quite short mixing times are possible.

Drum Blender

A mixing technology that relies on the internal design of a rotating drum that lifts the product to a position where gravity causes it to flow and redistribute itself. This results in an efficient and gentle flow of material with minimal force exerted on the particles being mixed, so that even very sensitive or fragile products can be mixed without degradation. A high degree of homogeneity can be achieved in a short blending time.
